As a Bistro Attendant, you will play a dynamic role in delivering exceptional food and beverage service to guests throughout all day parts, whether preparing food, serving coffee, or pouring cocktails. Your responsibilities will span both front-of-house and back-of-house functions, including taking guest orders, preparing ingredients, assembling menu items, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the Bistro area.You will be focused on optimizing each guest’s stay by living out our company purpose: “hospitality from our family to yours."
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and acknowledge all guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner in alignment with company standards.
- Take guest orders accurately, process payments, and handle transactions following established cash handling procedures.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages, including alcoholic drinks, in accordance with standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Prep food products using standardized techniques such as measuring, chopping, slicing, straining, and portioning.
- Visually inspect food for proper cooking temperatures and quality, ensuring items meet safety and freshness standards.
- Store food and beverage items properly, following all temperature control, labeling, and rotation procedures to prevent spoilage.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the Bistro area, including prep surfaces, utensils, refrigeration, dining areas, and trash disposal, in accordance with state, local, and company health regulations.
- Bus, clean, and reset tables during and after service.
- Check guest identification before serving alcohol to ensure legal drinking age, accepting only valid forms of government-issued ID.
- Monitor guest behavior and exercise sound judgment when determining whether additional alcoholic beverages should be served.
- Count cash drawers at the end of shift and complete all required end-of-day procedures.
- Coordinate with other departments as needed to fulfill guest requests or resolve service issues.
- Follow hotel policies for lost and found, guest confidentiality, and key security.
- Adhere to all company safety and emergency protocols, reporting accidents or hazards immediately and completing all required safety training.
- Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to meet evolving business demands.
Job Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience as a restaurant server, bartender, or in a similar food & beverage role preferred.
- Must be team-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Experience with POS systems preferred.
- TIPS certification required (training will be provided if not certified).
- ServSafe certification required (training will be provided if not certified).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, including food preparation and alcohol service protocols.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Physical Demands:
- Mustbe able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Requires frequent and sustained standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and stretching throughout the shift.
- Must possess manual dexterity to operate food prep tools, beverage equipment, and POS systems.
- Visual acuity required to inspect food and beverage quality and operate digital systems accurately.
- Must be able to work in fast-paced and high-pressure environments with changing priorities.
- May be exposed to a variety of environmental conditons, including hot surfaces areas, and loud noise levels typical of a kitchen or café setting.
