Job Overview:

As a Banquet Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service during banquet events, including weddings, meetings, and special functions. You will ensure that all guest interactions reflect our commitment to excellence and create a welcoming and professional environment. Job Responsibilities:
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to accurately prepare, set up, and break down assigned banquet spaces and service stations.
  • Set up tables, linens, place settings, buffet stations, coffee breaks, and beverage service areas in accordance with event specifications and hotel standards.
  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating or directions as needed.
  • Provide knowledgeable and courteous food and beverage service, including communicating menu offerings, ingredients, and special instructions.
  • Serve meals and beverages in a timely and professional manner, ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the event.
  • Circulate the event space with trays of hors d’oeuvres or beverages as required by the event type.
  • Promptly clear dishes, glassware, and utensilsfrom tables and maintain cleanliness throughout service.
  • Transport dirty dishes to the appropriate dishwashing area and assist with proper breakdown procedures.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with kitchen and bar staff regarding guest needs and special requests.
  • Monitor guest comfort and respond to questions or concerns in a polite, helpful manner.
  • Follow all hotel procedures related to lost and found, safety, and emergency protocols.
    Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Banquets, Housekeeping, Engineering) to resolve service issues and support smooth event execution.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures; report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management and complete assigned safety trainings.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the successful execution of banquet functions.
Job Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in banquet service, food and beverage, or hospitality preferred.
  • Must be ServSafe certified or willing to complete certification upon hire (training provided).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including Banquet Event Orders and event service standards.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event bookings.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stretching, lifting, and reaching throughout the duration of the shift. 
  • Manual dexterity to perform precise movements such as shaking, pouring, and mixing drinks, and handling bar tools and equipment with control.
  • Must have visual acuity sufficient to operate a POS system, monitor guest behavior, and inspect drink presentation.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, including during large or high-volume events.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of conditions including hot, cold, indoor, outdoor, and noisy environments.
